This Week in Wilton Lacrosse - May 23, 2017

Big game tonight for the Boys Varsity team - 7:30pm vs. Darien at Brien McMahon HS in Norwalk.  After a stirring victory over the New Canaan Rams on Saturday in the FCIAC quarter-finals, the boys varsity matches up aginst #1 seed and #2 in the nation Darien in the semi-finals.  The other semi-final game matches Greenwichand Ridgefield and gets underway at 5pm.  Should be a big night of high level lacrosse action.  Come on out and wear all that great Wilton spirit wear.

This otherwise is a bit of a slow lacrosse week.  The girls varsity lost a tough game to Staples in the quarterfinals of the FCIAC last Friday and now await the start of the state championships.  In last night's girls FCIAC semi-finals Darien and Ridgefield came out on top and will play tomorrow night for the FCIAC championship.

The freshmen and JV seasons finished up last week with both freshmen teams playing a lot in the last week and having some great victories.  The youth teams are in a bit of lull this week with the holiday weekend break coming up. The season resumes in earnest next Tuesday for the 2 week sprint to the finish with the CONNY tournaments on the weekend of June 3rd and June 10th.

The state tournament for the varsity teams will also begin the week following Memorial Day. Watch for announcements of those games.  The entire Wilton Lacrosse program is scheduled to march in the Memorial Day parade on Monday so come out and support the program and town as we remember those that have made the ultimate sacrifice.
